Oh Come All Ye Faithful

Scarlet Lindsey | Civil Patriot

Every year at Christmastime we sing the carols that have become part of the fabric of the season. One of those songs, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, has a rich history that spans multiple centuries and cultures. The words serve as an invitation to singers and listeners, alike.

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold him
Born the King of Angels:
O come, let us adore Him, (3×)
Christ the Lord.

First published in 1751 in Latin, this familiar song beckons believers to come to Bethlehem, to see the baby who would change the world. Those who sing this remarkable song are looking to impact the world with the One they find in Bethlehem.

This holiday season, as we face so many challenges and unknown variables, may we hear a similar call for the stalwart and faithful to come. With our arms and hearts linked, we will be unstoppable.

Hear Lady Liberty crying out:

Oh, come.

There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty, that makes human nature rise above itself, in acts of bravery and heroism.
