President Biden held his first news conference on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Honestly, not much information was learned other than that there are serious problems plaguing our country, and Biden can only fumble around for answers.
The President held the conference to make a statement about COVID-19 vaccines and how the goal to administer 100 million vaccines in the first 100 days was achieved in only 58 days. The new goal by day 100 is to administer 200 million vaccines. A lofty goal, he admitted, but one that he hopes to achieve.
Now, isn’t it ironic, that the achievement of his first press conference is actually the result of former President Trump? He was the one to complete all the groundwork to make this even remotely possible.
But I digress.
When he opened the floor for questions after reading off a scripted statement, it became very apparent that he doesn’t have answers. Despite looking like a man who had already been given the questions and prepared his responses in detailed notes, he still didn’t have any real answers.
A reporter asked him about the migrant facilities and when the media will be allowed in. Since banning the media from the overflowing facilities, Americans still don’t know what is truly going on.
The President responded in his usual roundabout fashion, explaining that He isn’t going to the border right now because his Secret Service agents will be in the way. He promised the media will have full access, they just have to wait until his resolution plan is under way.
A reporter pressed him for an answer asking, “Just to be clear, how soon will that be, Mr. President?”
Biden replied, “I don’t know. To be clear.”
That was about the gist of the entire conference. Reporters asked questions. Biden said words, but had no real hard answers. He just continued to ramble off in another direction.
Another reporter asked him if troops will be taken out of Afghanistan by the May 1st deadline. Biden’s answer: “We are not staying a long time. We will leave. The question is when we will leave.”
An interesting response, since that was the exact same question he was asked, but thanks, Mr. President, for restating it. Very helpful.
Maybe the problem is that he has no concept of time?
When answering a question about abolishing the filibuster, Biden replied, “I believe we should go back to a position of a filibuster that existed when I came to the United States Senate 120 years ago.”
120 years ago? Hopefully the Guiness Book of World Records adds this to their stats.
Throughout the conference, the President continued to look at his notebook. He fumbled for words and repeatedly paused for significant amounts of time.
The reporters he called on really didn’t press him for answers nor did they make jabs like they did at the previous administration. They did their part in making sure to not ask anything too tough.
So to recap, the public still doesn’t have answers to what resolutions the government is working on to deal with the issues that plague this country. We only have confirmation that Biden doesn’t have any answers either.
After 120 years in office, you’d think he’d have a clue.
