In my prior article I covered many of the lies that President Trump debunked during his recent speech at CPAC. There were too many to cover in one sitting, so here we are with PART TWO, honing in on more lies that the Democrats are telling.
Who gets credit for the vaccine: There’s a particularly damaging narrative that Trump did nothing to help with the COVID-19 crisis but we all know that’s not true. He spoke at length about the vaccine, and which administration should receive credit for it.
2nd Amendment: There was a narrative (prior to Biden entering office) that the Democrats weren’t coming for our guns. I think that has been debunked, with Biden’s movements to attack the 2nd amendment. Here’s what Trump had to say about that: “Last year, I predicted to you that the extremist corruption and incompetence of the Biden administration would be literally unprecedented in American history. Unfortunately, he has proven me 100% right. Already, as president, Biden has urged [inaudible 00:32:19] legislation shredding your second amendment. Your second amendment is in far bigger trouble than you know. And for four years, I fought like hell to save your second amendment. And we saved it 100&. We saved it.”
Globalism: The Left would have us believe that we need to be more globalist in our thinking. Trump shattered this narrative by delving into all of the reasons why he pulled out of WHO (the World Health Organization), The Paris Climate Accord, and more. He went into detail about the problems with China and why we need to use caution when working with them.
The Keystone Pipeline: Oh boy. There’s a ridiculous narrative from Democrats that the environment will be saved if only we can get rid of that pipeline. Trump spent some time talking that through. “42,000 great paying jobs. On just about day one, right? He never talked about that during a debate because he wouldn’t have gotten away with it. Well, he would have because they cheated so much it probably wouldn’t have mattered.”
Election Fraud: Not only is Trump not backing down on this one, he’s probably going to spend the rest of his career—in the Oval Office or not—fighting it.
“Big Tech is Fair to All”: One of the biggest false narratives of all, and Trump hit it head on with these comments: “The time has come to break up big tech monopolies and restore fair competition. Republicans, conservatives must open up more platforms and repeal Section 230 Liability Protection. And if the federal government refuses to act, then every state in the union where we have the votes… which is a lot of them… Big tech giants, like Twitter, Google and Facebook should be punished with major sanctions whenever they silence conservative voices.”
Getting Rid of RINOs: There’s a narrative from the Left that RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) are correct and that the rest of us are “dangerous right-wingers.” They would have us believe that we all need to become more like Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse and others of their ilk. Trump? Not so much. He believes they need to go. . .and I agree wholeheartedly. They don’t speak for most of us.
Sticking with the Republican Party: This one carried a bit of a sting for those who were hoping Trump would announce his own party, but he touched on the theory that doing so would help. He believes it would further divide an already divided conservative majority. (And yes, I said majority.)
Speaking of election fraud. . . He dove back in to that topic, giving details about the 2020 election, which he completely believes he won.
Trump dealt with one final false narrative before wrapping up his speech: confidence. The Left would have us believe that conservatives are whipped, that we’re curling up in a ball and giving up. Nothing could be farther from the truth!
Liberals. . .watch out. We’re just getting going. And with President Trump leading the charge, we’ll roar back into the enemy’s camp, ready to take Goliath (liberalism) down.
