How do you combat the tyrannous power of social media platforms? They censor posts, ban people and topics, and lord their power over their users.
So, how do you take back your freedom of speech? Create your own platform.
That’s exactly what Trump is doing.
Never one to stay down for long, former President Trump plans to launch his own brand-new social media platform just months after his online presence was silenced when he was kicked out of Twitter and Facebook. This independent, business-savvy man is always ready for a challenge!
He is reported to be having “high powered meetings” with numerous companies and is currently working out the details for his new platform.
Trump’s team projects his new social media platform will bring tens of millions to his new site.
A fair assessment considering all of his followers, not to mention all the users frustrated with Big Tech’s censorship.
Jason Miller, a senior advisor to Trump, said in an interview on Sunday that the former President plans to return to social media in 2-3 months on his own platform. This platform will enter the market as a competitor for current major social media platforms but without the oppressing censorship current platforms adhere to.
As such, it is projected to be enthusiastically welcomed. According to Miller, “This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media. It’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does.”
Trump has previously had a large presence in social media both before and during his time in the Oval Office. His blunt, tongue-in-cheek comments have received polarizing responses – either loved or hated by the public.
After the U.S. Capitol riots on January 6th, the former President was permanently banned from Twitter, Facebook and other major social media platforms. He was accused of inciting violence at the Capitol and subsequently removed from all social media platforms to silence his outreach to the public.
He also had a continuous battle with the media platforms themselves. In July 2018, he accused Twitter of shadow banning Republicans in a “discriminatory and illegal practice.” Twitter denied the accusation and claimed to have a bug in their programming. Something they quickly corrected after being called out by Trump.
The former President has yet to drop any specific details about his new social media platform, but interest for the program has been piqued!
The possibilities of the new platform just might be what frustrated users are looking for.
With a new social media platform on the horizon and Trump in the driver seat, we are sure to be hearing a lot more from him soon.
This is one way to take a stand and regain your freedom of speech.
