Is the impeachment trial against Citizen Trump constitutional? If you read only the MSM headlines, you would answer with a resounding “Yes!”
Craig Caplan (Capitol Hill producer from C-Span) tweeted this:
Let’s focus for a moment on that opening line: Senate impeachment trial of fmr President Donald Trump is constitutional.
If you read that, not knowing any better, you would probably think this impeachment trial against Trump was, indeed, constitutional. But I’m here to tell you it just ain’t so.
Just because 56 Democrats and RINOs say it’s so doesn’t make it so. As my daddy was prone to say, “That dog don’t hunt.”
SO, LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT A REAL/CONSTITUTIONAL IMPEACHMENT LOOKS LIKE:
The Constitution mentions an impeachment process for “the President” and goes on to say “he shall be removed from office for his crimes.”
Trump isn’t the president. He’s a private citizen.
Removal from office is the penalty.
Read that again: Removal from office is the penalty, according to the Constitution. How can he be removed from an office he no longer holds? It makes no sense.
Friends, this is a kangaroo court and these 56 wanna-be givers-of-justice don’t give a rip what the Constitution says. They’re too busy focusing on what their political careers are saying. And their careers are saying, “We can NEVER let Orange Man in office again.”
You know it’s true.
This was always about making sure Trump never runs for office again.
Because. . .Orange Man Bad.
